Synthetic Ballistic Gel Colour

Synthetic Gel Colour is a specially formulated colourant paste designed for use with synthetic ballistic gel. It provides a realistic human skin appearance without altering the density or performance characteristics of the gel.

Coverage: 30ml treats up to 7kg of synthetic gel

• Suitable for 10% and 20% density gel formulations

• Approximate ratio: 4ml per 1kg of gel

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Heat the Gel

Ensure your synthetic ballistic gel is fully melted and within a temperature range of 120°C–150°C.

2. Add Colourant

Add a small amount of Synthetic Gel Colour paste to the hot gel.

• Start conservatively and increase as required.

3. Mix Thoroughly

Stir the gel carefully until the colour is evenly distributed.

• Avoid introducing air to minimise bubble formation.

4. Adjust Colour Depth

Gradually add more colourant as needed to achieve the desired skin tone for your specific application.

5. Pour and Set

Once mixed, pour the gel into your mould and allow it to cool fully to room temperature.

FINISHING & SURFACE TREATMENT

Bubble Removal / Polishing

Once set, the gel surface can be gently polished to remove any surface bubbles.

Matte Skin Finish (Optional)

For a more realistic skin-like appearance:

• Lightly rub the surface of the gel once cooled

• This reduces surface shine and enhances realism

KEY NOTES

• Does not affect gel density or ballistic properties

• Compatible with standard synthetic gel re-melt and reuse processes

• Colour intensity is fully adjustable depending on application requirements
